Who I am

What I have studied – I have studied Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, obtaining the Master’s Degree in 2009. In 2013 I have completed my Ph.D. in Mathematical Models and Methods for Engineering, again at Politecnico, defending my thesis “Statistical models and methods for complex clinical data”.

Where I have worked – After the Ph.D. I have worked 2 years in Italy at Cavanna S.p.A., leading company in the food packaging sector, as R&D engineer for industrial robotics applications. Successively I have worked one year in Switzerland at Astes4, as software developer for handling and nesting algorithms for laser cut sheet metal parts. Now I work at SUPSI as a researcher since 2016.

What I have done and what I do – After the academic studies in numerical analysis and applied statistics, I focused on data science and machine learning during the Ph.D. After the Ph.D. I have worked on programming of industrial robots for high-performance, vision-guided pick-and-place applications. Nowadays I work on AI applications for industrial robotics and metal additive manufacturing.
